Description: Take in the incredible sense of scale as you soar over beautiful environments. Grab control of aircraft from the pilot’s seat as you balance between multiple challenges, piloting aircraft through the skies with urgent missions on the ground. The sky is full of aircraft of every kind, from F16s to Blackhawk Helicopters, WW2 Spitfires and barnstorming bi-wings. Aeroplanes on fire, commuter aircraft full of passengers low on fuel, mid-air collisions, emergency rescues, and military exercises all need your immediate attention! Use zoom points throughout the game to scale down to real-world size, where you fight roaring fires, repair aircraft, fire the guns and missile launchers of battleships, take over baggage handling and solve puzzles as you make your way through the game.

Review: I will never forget what was once said in an interview with playfulcorp makers of the Oculus VR game Lucky’s Tale. They said this: ” We had to make Lucky massive because his size and detail didn’t work well in VR. So we had to make this character over 2ft tall just to get the level of detail we wanted.” Why am I tell you about this? Because “phaserlock” who made this game have had to do much the same with their little aeroplanes and many other flying vehicles. Make they large so the detail when in VR is the best it can be.

Let me tell you the level of detail in this game is CRAZY! Each and everything even at god level height is amazing. From little planes, boats, helicopters and other island vehicles, to the little trees, runway lights and buildings. Everything looks so real that you could bend down and pick it up, even at lower ground missions you can really see the effort and detail that has gone into making this game. While this was originally a game that was supposed to be played with the VIVE motion controllers, you can now play it with a basic game controller, thus on the Oculus DK2. While I can’t imagine it is as much fun with the motion controllers it is still easy to play and very responsive.

If you enjoyed the original Final Approach on Steam you will love this add-on that gives you more to play but in a different way as well. While not as much fun as the original game with motion controllers this is still well worth a look, especially those who loved playing with toy planes as a kid.
