Intro: Command a mighty army from above with the ultimate war machine: the AirMech. Watch the battle unfold on the table in your war room, or dive into the action directly. Play with friends, or against them! AirMech: Command is a unique experience that is a showcase for how VR expands gaming. Extremely comfortable for everyone, it can be enjoyed by those brand new to VR all the way up to the serious gamer.
Review: AirMech is an overhead / VR strategy game that puts you in command of a massive transforming robot. The idea is to dominate the battlefield and capture them enemies bases. But you are not alone you have various weapons and attack squads to work with. Very similar in style to Herzog Zwei it is a game that requires you to think strategically about everything, including your own transforming robot and what, when and where to attack.
With some great single play missions, some fantastic multiplayer elements all wrapped in some great graphics that at times can look really realistic when you lean into them thus us a game that will keep you amused for a long time.
Verdict: If there is one type of game that really benefits the most from virtual reality it has to be strategy games. You once played them with a top-down view, then they become more and more 3D and now in VR, strategy games look like handcrafted pieces of an army set that you can reach out and grab and place where you want on the table. Of course, it is a lot more complicated than that, but being able to overlook the battle and that feeling of immersion you get from a god-like view is something only VR can offer. AirMech: Command will remain one of the best VR strategy games for a long time to come and a must-see if you are a fan of the genre.
