AR Box (Mobile AR Headset)

AR Box (Mobile AR Headset)

“…lightweight and stylish…”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like controllers, wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Box Weight: 458 g
Box Height: 12 cm
Box Width: 17 cm
Box Length: 23 cm

Overall Packaging Presentation: While the box doesn’t give you much of a clue as to what is inside of it the black and white styling is pretty nice and oddly presentable as a gift. Once the box is open you can see the headset nested safely inside in a cardboard frame that does help to keep it safe and sound. So not exactly amazing presentation, but it is at least practical and will keep your headset safe until arrival.

Whats in the box…

First Impressions: Getting it out of the box for the first time I was surprised at how lightweight the headset is. With a stylish look and almost “glasses like” appearance, I was looking forward to seeing what the AR effect looks like. While little more than a piece of plastic it felt strong and sturdy, but I doubt the plastic “blades” on the front would take the same impact.

Features Review: When it comes to features this headset really doesn’t have anything to talk about. Other than maybe the adjustable head strap, but that is hardly worth noticing. Its just one of those headsets that doesn’t have features and to be fair doesn’t really need them neither.

Final Verdict: While the headset is lightweight and stylish the software is what really lets it down. The “AR” image is just not clear enough and the angle of which you can see anything is nowhere near being practical. The good news is these are simply software problems and any updated app might make the AR image look sharper and clearing as well as being able to see the,m in the locations you want. But at the moment I can only suggest you avoid getting one of these. They’re too expensive, not good enough when it comes to software and not even good enough to be classed as a toy. At the end of the day this is a new form of technology and much like VR it will take time to make it better, but that time isn’t now.
