Description: “Bomb Hero VR” is a classical arcade game. Your goal is to clear all monsters by bombs, and find the portal.

Review: For those who don’t know what the original Bomberman video game series was about (that is what this game is inspired by), it was a strategic, maze-based game owned by Hudson Soft (But originally Konami). The idea is pretty simple, the player must defeat enemies and reach an exit to progress through the levels. But get touch by an enemy and it’s game over (much like Pac-Man). The good news is you can still pick up various power-ups, giving you benefits such as larger explosions or the ability to place more than one bomb down at a time. Yep! All the classic gameplay remains intact.

Sadly you only have a single player mode with this game (no much needed multiplayer) and you can only use the touch controllers (what is wrong with the classic controller?). But yet it still has that classic feel with a VR new look attached. While nothing amazingly new it still looks pretty great, but let’s face it, its all about the gameplay and this game has that classic feel to it.

Playing retro games in a new way is always fun for a short while, but without any multiplayer options, this falls short of being a great little game. Yes I did still enjoy playing it, but Bomberman was all about the fun a multiplayer game could be, so without it, I found myself yearning for the original game, not so much this one. Still, a nostalgic filled game that many of us will have happy memories of.
