Dig 4 Destruction (Oculus Rift)
Intro: The first of its kind! A first for VR! An intense online multiplayer deathmatch game where you must dig through the earth and excavate weapons to battle your enemies!
Review: Dig 4 Destruction is a game that is essentially a mash-up of different games. From it’s Minecraft looks to its crazy online shooter, this is a game like you have never played before. Imagine being able to play an online first person shooter in a Minecraft world. You could dig yourself a trench, make traps and when the action really gets going just hide. That is what this game gives you the ability to do!
Being able to dig the landscape really makes this game feel strategic. Sure, you can find out where your enemy/opponent is by clicking the “x-ray” style button then just dig to where they are. But you also have to find weapons along the way. Some are up high, some are buried in the ground and some are just a trap where someone is waiting for you to visit. But in the level somewhere is shotguns, pistol, hand grenades and even the odd surprise.
Verdict: The biggest aspect of this game is it’s multiplayer, but sadly this is also it’s biggest downfall. Due to the high price, there is a severe lack of online players which means every time you go to the online rooms there is nothing to do which makes the game feel empty and slightly pointless. Is it a good game? Yes! It’s a great game that can be a real blast. But without more single player options or people playing online, it does feel a little empty in both players and content.
