Durovis Dive 7 (Mobile VR Headset)

“I instantly knew this was the beast of all mobile VR headsets.”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like controllers, wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Box Weight: 1,062 g
Box Height: 16 cm
Box Width: 19 cm
Box Length: 27 cm

Overall Packaging Presentation: The box and style are very much the same as the Durovis Dive 5. With a plain white box with very little information about the headset located inside of it.But the box invisibly much bigger than the Durovis Dive 6’s and much more rugged. Whatever is inside of it needed some deep protection. Pulling open the side with a flip-lid style the headset is revealed inside, however, it is bagged keeping the mystery of what the headset looks like a little longer.

What’s in the box…

  • Headset
  • Instruction Booklet
  • Durovis Dive Owners Card
  • Dustproof Carry Bag
  • Separate Headstrap

First Impressions: I didn’t need to get this headset out of its bag. From the moment I took it out of the box, I instantly knew this was the beast of all mobile VR headsets. It is absolutely colossal. But yet, it didn’t weight anywhere near what I thought it would be and despite that, it still feels like you could drop a bomb onto it and it would survive thanks to its extra sturdy frame. It is very clear that this is not your average mobile VR headset.

Features Review: The good news is this headset has independently adjustable pupil and focus distance which should mean most people won’t have to wear glasses, but sadly it doesn’t have a magnet button that it’s smaller brother had and even the head strap is a bit more fiddly and looks like it weights a lot more. Having said that, when you have a headset this big hanging off your face you need a head strap that will secure it properly so I suppose I can let them off for that one.

Final Verdict: Make no bones about it, this is a very serious headset that requires strong neck muscles to support it. But the possibilities of use with this headset are endless. For all those people with bigger phablets, this is the very best option for you. For the rest of us, it is a specialist headset that isn’t going to be any good with your average sized phone. Truly a monster of mobile VR headsets that is better quality than many of the DIY jobs people make themselves. It’s a headset modders paradise that is only as good as the reason/person who dreams up ideas of what to do with it.
