“…hard to tell the difference between this headset and a Google made Daydream!”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like controllers, wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Box Weight: 432 g
Box Height: 14 cm
Box Width: 10 cm
Box Length: 20 cm

Overall Packaging Presentation: While not exactly shop friendly the headset box looks good enough and feels sturdy. Featuring little more than a few images of the headset, the clean white style if not bad at all. Opening the box, the headset is nested within another cardboard box for extra protection then placed in a dust-free bag. So far from amazing, but definitely more than adequate.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Instruction Booklet

JiDome Fires VR (VR Viewer)

First Impressions: With its super soft material cover and lightweight deign it would be hard to tell the difference between this headset and a Google made Daydream! It looks just as good as it feels and I can only hope the viewing experience you get with it is even half as good as the build quality.

Features Review: As per usual, this is an area where this (and many other headsets) falls flat on its face. No adjustment features whatsoever, not even a magnet switch. In fact, apart from maybe calling the head strap a feature it has none at all!

Final Verdict: Despite the viewing experience not being too bad at all, the lack of any features is what really puts me off this headset. It certainly looks very much like the Google Daydream and dare I say, it has the same high-quality build. But it doesn’t have any daydream features and nothing that really makes it stand out from the crowd. So hardly a groundbreaker, but if you got this headset as a gift you wouldn’t be feeling too bad about it.

  1. The Daydream View is different from Cardboard in that it doesn’t need a QR Code — it has a chip in it or something that tells the phone what it is.
And it comes with a controller.
Does this headset have either of those things? Or is it just another Cardboard headset, gussied up to look like Daydream?
    Thanks!
