Review: Before we start this review I need to remind people that this is NOT the full Minecraft game, this additional feature app is for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition only. While this version is little more than a remix of the pocket version it is still considered one of the better ones. So provided you have a Microsoft account and the original Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition game downloading this app allows you to play that game in VR and the results are pretty good.
While the Gear VR version was impressive, running with the more optimised Windows 10 Minecraft means it runs faster and feels a lot smoother. You once again have the two modes, being able to run around in VR and being able to play the game on a big screen in VR, both are easily swapped between each other. While I do wish it was running with the full game I still deeply enjoyed running around the Minecraft world in VR and this version knocks spots off the Gear VR version for obvious reasons like graphical abilities and frame rate.
While the Minecraft Windows ins not the most feature full of them all, you do get incredible performance and that is what makes this VR version run so smoothly. If you currently use other Minecraft systems don’t bother with this one. But if you are running the windows version this is a great additional feature that is well worth experiencing.
