Pinball FX2 VR (PSVR)
Intro: Experience digital pinball as never before in Pinball FX2 VR, a groundbreaking new pinball game from the digital pinball pioneers Zen Studios! Pinball FX2 VR features advanced physics, detailed 3D graphics, and original tables from the pinball wizards at Zen.
Pinball FX2 VR replicates the atmosphere of real-life pinball machines in a virtual play space, while presenting gameplay features and effects that you simply cannot recreate on a physical machine. Additionally, the game’s rich scoreboards will track your Pro Score, Team Score, table stats and more to let you compete against players from all over the world!
Review: As you first enter the hub / menu room you start to put doubt into your mind whether or not you are going to enjoy this game. The room looks a little basic and looking around you can’t see many pinball tables to play. But once you do decide on a table to play all those fears vanish. The tables look amazing and the sounds make you feel like you really are playing one in real life!
But it’s all been done before I hear you cry. The VR aspect means the whole room surrounding the pinball table becomes alive and themed to each table you play. Choose the space one and spaceships and meteorites fly around you, and while you might think this would be rather distracting it feels immersive and only helps to put you into the pinball playing zone even more.
Verdict: You can’t take anything away from this game, it’s the best pinball game you will ever play no matter what system you play it on. There is a small, but hardly noticeable drop in graphics quality on the PSVR, but nothing worth moaning about. The price of this game will scare most people off, but if you don’t want the extra tables, you get more than enough to be going on with in this basic pack. In my lifetime I can’t see a pinball game being better than this one and coming from someone who wasn’t a fan of pinball games until this one, this is strong praise indeed.
