Final Verdict: Sadly when it comes to using the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus with the Gear VR there really isn’t much improvement at all over the less expensive Samsung Galaxy S8. While it does indeed have a bigger screen than its non-plus brother the Gear VR doesn’t use a single millimetre of it. In fact, the only real difference is the larger battery that might give you an extra 20 minutes or so in VR before it powers down. This is for people who have bigger hands and need that little bit of extra power to make it through the day, the power user as they are called. But if you are just going to be getting one for VR you will be no better off than you would be with the Samsung Galaxy S8.
