“…no doubt in my mind that this is a premium controller…”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Packaging Presentation & First Impressions: Being an official Samsung controller it comes well packaged. With a nice box, plastic holding tray and clear user instructions. Picking it up for the first time you will notice how heavy it is. At 197g chances are that it will weigh about the same as the VR headset you have chosen to use with it! But you will also notice the quality of it. Well made, everything fits, it doesn’t feel cheap in any way and it feels like it will take a few bumps and drops.

What is it Like To Use in VR: While it is well made, it is not the easiest of controllers to use in VR. The flat control sticks are not as tacktile as you need them to be and the whole controller doesn’t feel as natural as many others. Sure, it feels nice to hold, but when you are inside VR and can’t see the buttons, sometimes you will find yourself feleing around rather than pressing the button first time.

Final Verdict: While there is no doubt in my mind that this is a premium controller with a very premium price I can’t help but feel that it is not as tactile as you might need while in VR. Sure, it does feel good to hold, but trying to find the exact direction with those flat thumbsticks is not easy. You will be much better off paying half the price and getting another controller.
