Description

“…it looks like a cheap Gear VR.”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like controllers, wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Box Weight: 392 g
Box Height: 13 cm
Box Width: 10 cm
Box Length: 20 cm

Overall Packaging Presentation: Pretty boring packaging to be honest. With a brown plain looking box with a picture of the headset and just the product name in writing. While this packaging box is pretty strong there is no other packaging to protect it.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Head Strap
  • Quick Start Guide
  • Safety Manual

First Impressions: Getting it out of the box you will notice how much it looks like a cheap Gear VR. Sure it doesn’t have the touchpad on the side of the headset, but it does have the same shape and build quality. With great weight distribution and nice looking face padding and lenses.

Features Review: Saly this is an area that the Vodafone Smart VR lacks the most. No pupil or focus distance to speak of, but it does come with a QR code for Google Cardboard apps, a good quality 3 point head strap and a screen touch button (this only works with the Vodafone Smart platinum 7).

Final Verdict: While it was designed for the Vodafone Smart platinum 7 there is a range of different smartphones that you can get into it. While it is certainly no Gear VR it is just as comfortable to use. OK, so the lack of features is pretty annoying, but at the end of the day it was made for only one type of smartphone and it was free for most Vodafone Smart platinum 7 owners. If I got this as a free headset, I’d be pretty happy indeed.
