Review: Looking for a super fast arcade racer that you can do power drifts on and race multiplayer online? Well, don’t bother with this game. This game is a super serious racing simulation that has been the love child of both fans and developers (who still till today argue about what works and what doesn’t). Cutting the chat short this game features well over 100 cars, over 100 unique track layouts, ultra-realistic gameplay handling and world-class graphics that will make you feel as if you really are sat in the car.

Calling this game “a realistic driving simulation” is making it cheap, this is the joy of driving in it’s purest form. Some people say that each car is so accurately recreated (each one handling and driving very differently) you could get out of VR and jump into the real thing and drive it just the same. I’m not sure if that is true, but in VR this game feels scary realistic thanks to the screen melting graphics. While there are several different game modes to choose from, with this game it’s all about that online career mode.

To fully appreciate this game you need a racing wheel and pedals. While most people are only going to have their gamepads if you have spent almost £50 on the game you can afford the wheel and pedals. This is not a wham, bam, thank you mam game, this game requires real commitment and serious gameplay hours. But in VR (with a wheel and pedals rather than a gamepad), this is as real as it gets, the graphics are so amazing that when I crashed into a wall in the game I braced because I thought the air bag was going to go off! But don’t get this game if you are looking for arcade style fun, get it because you love the thrill of driving fast.
