Designed from the get go for Virtual Reality, Temporal Storm’s game play takes some classic ideas and evolves them to create a brand new take on a classic genre! This is virtual reality Retro-Future style!

Review: Temporal Storm: Hyperspace Dream hearkens back to the days of retro arcade games from the 1980’s. Its classic neon style graphics are a feast for the eyes with colours, explosions and awesome looking bits of scenery all around you. With a pumping 80’s electric style soundtrack playing this game will make you feel the 80’s are back with MJ and Prince still alive. Played on a Tempest 2000 style grid you move left to right shooting and firing you “bomb” by looking at the aim panel in the centre. Using the gamepad the controls feel natural and easy to understand even if the chaos of the game isn’t so easy to get on with.

While this game was “Designed from the get go for Virtual Reality” it doesn’t make the greatest of uses of it. In fact, it would have been just as much fun to play on a 2D screen. That doesn’t mean this isn’t a great game and to be fair it looks fantastic in VR. If you love 80’s arcade shooters like Tempest 2000 and 1942 this will keep you amused for a fair old while thanks to it’s pretty solid gameplay making those top heights of the world leaderboards a real challenge.
