Description: Introducing Virtually Live, the true VR company, where fans can watch live events in virtual venues as if they were there, but better. In Virtually Live, fans never miss a live event and easily find the best location to watch with friends. We transform the traditional viewing experience by giving users the ability to be an active participant in the experience.

Virtually Live tracks live events in real-time and it recreates them in fully-rendered virtual environments, delivering the best fan experience. Users can join their friends online to watch live events from; the VIP room, the driver’s seat, the stands, or even in the pit lane!

Review: The idea of the Virtually Live company is to allow event and sports fans to attend live VR events from all over the world. While this first concept is Formula E season 2 highlights, they plan to bring a whole range of sporting and motorsport events to us. What it does is give you a 3D fully-rendered virtual environment and then plays the race data over the top of it. So you can watch the race from just about any angle you choose. It doesn’t just show you the race action, it puts you into it!

Once you have gone through the tutorial, you can move around pretty easy. There are waypoints to view, in car views (these can be quite nauseating) and you can even watch the real race on the TV! There is also commentary and in race stats. When it comes to all you would want to know about the race, they seem to have covered all the bases.

While I am not a fan of Formula E racing, I do see the promise this concept offers, especially with other sporting events like football and pretty much all motorsport events. However, I don’t think this concept is quite there yet, but there is a lot of promise. Will it ever become the new way to watch this sort of racing events? Maybe it will, but not quite yet. Maybe if I was a Formula E fan I would have enjoyed it more, so I will be looking forward to taking a look at this app again once other events become available.
