“…fresher, smoother and much better made.”

Overall Packaging Presentation: If my memory serves me right, the outer sleeve doesn’t look that much different than the original Shinecon. With a nice image of the headset set against a black background. But it isn’t shop ready at all (meaning there is nothing that really sells it or tells you what it might do), but it is gift ready and would probably make someone smile unwrapping the paper and seeing it. Inside of the box, the headset was wrapped in bubble paper and pretty well protected.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Extra Rubber Pads
  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Instruction Booklet

First Impressions: While it has much the same shape of the original headset, it looks fresher, smoother and much better made. The Shinecon series has always been a safe bet, but slightly low on quality, but this seems to be both well made and looks like it has all you need for a good experience.

Features Review: When it comes to features the Shinecon II has slightly less than the original! While independent focus adjustment is the same, this time around the pupil distance adjustment is not adjustable independently which some might miss. I do believe that the lenses are bigger, better, clearer and the head strap as had a redesign as well. But it is still little more than a 3 point adjustable strap like most others are.

Final Verdict: While there isn’t much improvement over the original, what there is, is all meant to give you an even better experience at the same low price. The Shinecon V1 was cloned and copied a thousand times (because it was a pretty good headset) and I would imagine we will also see many variations on this headset. But this is the original and its pretty impressive.
