HMD HA554 (2016)

HMD HA554

Description: Almost from the first day it was shown to the public the Oculus Rift has been at the forefront of virtual reality development, but that also means it is the most copied and replicated of all the headsets (so far anyway). That is not our way of saying the HMD HA554 is an Oculus copy, far from it, but it is trying to be like it but at a more affordable price.

Don’t get us wrong, there is a point to these Chinese all-in-one VR headsets, but sadly they are not as such full VR headsets. Think mobile video glasses with some head tracking features and you have something very similar to the HMD HA554.

HMD HA554

Review: As with so many of these cheap Chinese “All-in-one” VR headsets, the only thing you can really do with them is watch 360 and 3D video content. Sure, it does work with 360 videos and some Andriod mobile VR apps thanks to the built-in accelerometer, but nothing that you could officially call a VR headset. Besides, the viewing quality on most of these headsets is so poor that you would be better off just buying an Oculus Go instead!
