Presentation: It has to be said the Acer OJO 500 comes nicely boxed with a big image of the headset on top of the box and an image of two headsets the H8501 and the H8501P (one seems to have a different head strap but there isn’t a SKU on the website to purchase the different kinds. Opening the main box there are other plain brown boxes inside and while that sounds a little boring everything inside of those boxes is protected in foam and very well packaged. While the unboxing experience is nothing amazing everything is very well protected for transport.

Review: There are things I like about the Acer OJO 500 and things I hate. I like the removable face guard because it allows you to look at the screen or your surroundings without having to take the whole headset off and sound pipe technology is also pretty handy because I personally don’t enjoy using over the ear style headphones. But it still suffers from many of the same problems the other WMR headsets have like loss of tracking and a slight screen door effect. There is nothing here to make it stand out from the other WMR headsets and that is a shame because Acer tried hard with this headset, but it seems it was all in the wrong areas. It’s worth a look if you can grab it for the right price, but I probably wouldn’t pay full price because there are better options out there.
