Description: See how sounds and shapes help mental health in virtual reality. The aim of Binaural Odyssey is to create and guide the user’s emotions. The virtual world reacts to the eyes of the viewer and creates visual shapes from whichever direction the user looks at. The project shows the potential of new technologies as an art form. The mechanisms of action of binaural sounds, colours and patterns are based on a scientific basis.

Review: What ‘Binaural Odyssey’ is designed to do is to show you particle and light effects based on the user’s emotions. How it can tell my emotions is unknown, but I get the feeling that side of things simply doesn’t work. But what you are left with is a neverending light show with soft, simple sounds that can be quite relaxing and mesmerizing. But that is all this is. There is nothing to interact with, nothing to change, no way to listen to your own music, but at least it is free and I suppose you could try and turn it into some sort of music visualiser. Maybe I missed the point to this, but it doesn’t cost anything to try so maybe give it a go yourself, personal I found it pointless, but still pretty chill.
