Review: Are you old enough to remember playing the Micro Machines racing games? That great top down view of the older games, or the newer following 3rd person views when it was all in 3D. Those games were amazing and I spent far too much time of my life playing them. But once again Blazerush hopes to bring that style of racing back. Once again played with a 3D 3rd person view, but this time in VR and fair play it looks incredible. Not only do you get the depths of the track, but each incredibly detailed, if you love your top-down vehicular combat arcade racers, this is as good as they get.

There are both multiplayer options with the new BlazeBowl football as well as quite a few other game modes, it can handle up to 4 players locally and up to 8 players over the Internet. As well as that, there is a single player career mode that sees you climbing the racing ranks trying to earn more cars and racers. Multiplayer or single racing, you get the same power-ups like nitro and weapons which all come together to make a highly competitive game that will often turn to utter chaos right before you cross the finish line.

This is one of those rare games that is a VR refresh that feels like it was waiting for VR to come along. It been out on the PlayStation 3 since 2004! But yet in VR it looks and feels amazing, you can look ahead of the track and make strategic choices and decisions that you simply couldn’t do when playing it on a flat screen. BlazeRush is one of the most exciting and addictive games that you can play, especially if play with friends locally or even online. It is fair, balanced, easy to learn, but difficult to harness. Sadly these days the online boards are pretty much empty, but yet it is still a great game so some people do still play it. The new update added some much-needed life back into the online multiplayer game, so play this game early to not miss out on the online experience.
