Review: While I am just as tired of the comparison as you are, comparing music/rhythm games to Beat Saber is a good showcase of how good or bad they are. In terms of aestheticsBoomBox’ looks just as good as Beat Saber, if a little better. I am not sure about the weird little cat thing, but that is for you to discover. Sadly when it comes to comparing this game’s gameplay to Beat Saber’s it fails miserably. There is almost no learning curve, it goes from too easy, to ridiculous in the blink of an eye and the beat mapping is hit and miss at best. Sure, you can Beat-map your own music, but most people won’t want to do that and are left playing what songs are built into the game.

The good news is I do think this game has massive potential and the fact that you can beat-map your own music should keep the games community alive. As long as the developers add multiplayer and more songs in the future I think this will be worth a purchase, but I would personally hang on a little while to see just how frequently those game updates and additions come along.
