Review: There are a couple of things to take into account here when it comes to reviewing ‘Buccaneers! The New Age of Piracy’. The first is that this is 100% free, so anyone can try it for themselves and the 2nd is that this is a demo of the full future game. I am not sure why the developers just didn’t release a demo rather than this, but it is what it is.

You of course play the role of ship captain trying to take down all the enemy ships you come across. Just before that said ship sinks you can board it and go for a little hand to hand action. While it isn’t a terrible looking game it is the gameplay that leaves me feeling a little disheartened. It is all so…basic..so…well, boring! Sure, there is a little bit of crew management to break things up, but the main action of the game is lacking.

However, taking all the things I first mentioned I could see this game growing into something better than it currently is. This free demo in disguise nonsense is annoying, but at least it was free. All I can say for sure is that this game has a long way to go, but I hope it gets there in the end.
