Description: A true first-person tower defence, designed for VR. This is not your diorama-style VR tower defence. In Captain ToonHead you’ll move all over the map, hammering away to upgrade your towers, while throwing over-powered chalasis recklessly. You’ll take manual control of your towers to unleash streams of heavy-metal powered hot sauce and shoot electric beams from weaponized pizza at your enemies.

Review: ‘Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space’ is a tower defence game played in a cartoon sci-fi style. This is one of those tower defence games that really puts you into the action instead of just viewing it from above which I personally enjoy. Using your duel-welding guns you need to take down various enemies while building up your other towers with the money you get from killing them. When it comes to the graphics they are OK at a distance, but once you get closer to things you realise they are not all that good. Having said that they are not much worse than the Steam VR version!

When it comes to gameplay the loop is pretty traditional, the more money you have to build, the harder the enemies become and there is a small element of strategy to it. But I think £18.99 is asking a tad too much for this and I would have liked it to bene half that price, so do hold off for a sale. The game is fun to play and should scratch an itch for tower defence lovers, but it doesn’t have the polish to be worth the full asking price.
