Description: CHAINMAN is a Japanese made VR Survival Horror with strong stealth gameplay. You awake on an island with your arms restrained in chains as blood-curdling groans advance on you. With no way to fight back, you must use a combination of light mechanics, and the information left by other survivors to traverse the night and stay hidden from the horror that looms in the darkness.

Review: I didn’t know what I was expecting going into ‘ChainMan’ other than a dark horror, but all I do know is I was left feeling quite disappointed. As with so many other horror games the game is just too dark, there is no need for it to be that dark all the time as it doesn’t make the game scarier, it makes it more annoying to play. The whole game just lacks polish and feels more like a test release than a full one. From the poor quality graphics to the terrible controls the game is nowhere near as good as you will be expecting for the £9.99 price tag you paid.

Having said that it isn’t the worse horror game I have played and there is still some nice jump scares to be had here, but I would wait for it to be in a really good sale before giving it a go. Pay just a fraction of the current asking price and you should be willing to forgive the poor quality of the game. Even if you can look past it you will only play it once then never again.
