Review: Let’s start with saying what a great use of VR and indeed the motion controllers Child of the Wind is. It’s a work of genius and Freetale should be very proud of themselves. It looks amazing (both the playing room and the playing area), has a great soundtrack and even the wind from the fans is well animated. Sadly the lack of any storyline or any sort of tutorial is what kills it for me. Sure, I managed to work it out after an hour of playing, but I shouldn’t have to work it out. There wasn’t even the slightest of hints on what to do! So yeah, a steep learning curve that will leave many players feeling frustrated. But look past that, get into this game and work out what you have to do and you will have yourself a fantastic VR game. Maybe it’s a little overpriced for my liking, but still well worth owning. It’s VR innovation at its best.
