Damnfields (Google Daydream)
Intro: Originally created for the Oculus Mobile VR Jam 2015, Damnfields was one of the 37 finalists and it’s now available for Google Daydream! Inspired by 8-bit retro-games (in both art and music), the game features 4 mini-game modes and a main game mode: Every game mode (apart from the main game mode) will have a timer, so the players can challenge friends to play and beat each other best times, once the level is succeeded for the first time.
Verdict: Damnfields is a little bit of retro style goodness. With 5 styles of gameplay to enjoy in the style of mine challenges before the bigger “Damnfields” challenge can be entered. At the end of the day, this is a free VR game what isn’t that bad to play at all. Sure, the graphics are very retro in style and the gameplay simple, but for those of us who come from an 8-Bit era its a lot of fun. If you’re into your retro gaming, definitely consider giving this a go.
