Review: Day of Destruction is pretty much the aliens from 1996 movie ‘Independence Day’. But what makes this game stand out from all the other games that have tried to imitate that movie is that you play the role of the aliens! Yep, you will be using your planet-destroying capabilities like death-rays, scout ships, black holes and a few other weapons to destroy the cityscape below. While I can’t deny that I had a LOT of fun playing this at first you soon start to realise that there is no strategy needed here. No thought, no game plan you just do the same thing over and over again.

This game is definitely not worth the full £11.39 asking price, but for a few quid you will have fun here for a while I promise. There is something so oddly satisfying about taking out the city below, even if the graphics are nothing to write home about. Get this for the right price and it won’t matter that there isn’t much of a game here, its just a chance to let off some steam.
