Description: Dead Herring is a VR-Experience in which you are a detective, solving a murder case. You can analyse and combine hints by zooming into the microscopic level using a special tool. The game follows the idea of using an affective gaming approach as a possibility to develop new settings with chemical contents for learning chemistry at school or at university. It was developed by students from the Animation department at the University of Art and Design in Kassel in cooperation with the Chemistry department of the University of Kassel.

Review: ‘Dead Herring VR’ is an interactive crime scene of sorts in which you will be trying to solve a murder. You scan the crime scene with your little tool and try and put the pieces together. It certainly looks OK for a freebie, but it is very short, in fact, you can smash through it in a few minutes if you know what to do and there is no replay value at all. But it is free and sure to give most budding virtual detectives a few minutes of fun, but if it weren’t free, I would not have been able to recommend it at all given the lack of content.
