Description: DRIFT is a one-of-a-kind experience played from the perspective of a bullet. DRIFT fully exploits the possibilities of virtual reality to offer a challenging new gameplay paradigm. Follow Walter in a crazy adventure and try to achieve perfection while exploring stunning environments. Use your gaze to freely fly through highly immersive suspended scenes and try to dodge obstacles until you find your target. Take up the challenge and fly across the 15 unique environments of the main story to unlock 6 hidden levels and endless modes.

Review: DRIFT was once one of the Gear VR’s killer apps and now it has been ported to the Oculus Rift. But what is it? DRIFT is a VR training program that programs you do reach your target no matter what. It puts you in the role of a bullet and you have to guide yourself to the target. This might sound simple enough but it really isn’t and there are lots of things in the way that will prevent you from reaching your goal.

Gameplay is where this game comes into its own. You have to guide your missile / bullet to using your head movements and a very tiny slowdown bar. Each level starts with it looking and feeling impossible to complete. But as you keep going back through it, you soon realise you can finish it, you just need to learn the path, like the world’s coolest maze running game. With art style graphics and a rather interesting story you will be flying through the levels in no time, even though the learning curve is pretty steep.

DRIFT is one of those games that is just as much fun to watch someone play as it is to play the game yourself. It has to be said that I do love the Gear VR version, but the tracking on the Rift headset makes it so much more playable. This is one of those games that you can feel was made for VR, this game simply wouldn’t have worked without being played with a VR headset. With 15 unique environments, 6 hidden levels and even an unlockable endless mode there is more than enough to give you value for money. Don’t download this game just because it’s fun to play, download it to see what a VR game should be like.
