Description: Flying Aces – Navy Pilot Simulator is a story-based virtual reality (Oculus and HTC Vive) experience unlike any other. You will experience what it’s like to train to become a navy pilot. As gamers, we search for experiences that aren’t possible in our daily lives. With Navy Pilot Simulator, we’re able to bring the armchair pilot into the cockpit of a fighter jet. We have long wanted to develop a true pilot simulator, but this wasn’t possible until the advent of virtual reality. The Oculus Rift allows us to offer an experience that previous generations of hardware aren’t capable of. Our goal is to create a true to life experience as opposed to a game.

Review: There are plenty of good flight-sims on the Steam store and many of which are jaw-dropping in VR. Sadly while Flying Aces: Navy Pilot Simulator is pretty good…it is not good enough. The graphics are choppy and at times stop being in VR for some reason (via a single display) but the controls are where it really shines. It feels responsive and when the graphics are behaving themselves it feels pretty immersive. With some small repairs, this could be a great game, but for most people, it will be too overpriced given the amount of content you get. So one to keep an eye on for sure, especially if it drops in price in a sale as it did for me. I paid only £1.54 and was very happy with my purchase. I would not be so happy if I had paid £15.49.
