Description: Frostbound is a rogue-lite atmospheric survival game where you guide a small group of elk-like creatures on an epic journey across a frozen landscape to a cursed mountain. Camp, scavenge, travel by day or by night, and survive the trek to the center of the Cursed lands, picking up clues about the curse along the way.

Review: On paper, Frostbound is a brilliant idea for a game and sure to look fabulous no matter what VR system it is on, keeping the player forever wondering what is going on as well as the constant fighting for their own survival from a giant devil god-like creature and the cold, harsh environment. If you think that sounds like a great game that you can fully immerse yourself in, you would be right on the nose at what Frostbound is.

Sadly it simply wasn’t implemented correctly and small, frustrating points make the game almost unplayable. From the constant spinning around you have to do just to find your character after a change of way-point to the lack of simple instructions, this game makes a messy meal out of beautiful ingredients. But if you fight through these issues that plague this game (because at the end of the day it’s totally free!) you will discover something wonderful and deeply immersive, but it’s an uphill struggle most people will give up on.
