Description: Command Z Presents Future Fragments a virtual reality installation created by Michael Ziga with soundscapes by Silvio Buchmeier. Connor Hanwick, and Palmer Foote. The virtual gallery places participants in three successive museum spaces, filled with sculptures reimagining classical figuration, gothic aesthetic, and modernist forms. The viewer is encouraged to interact with the relics by throwing them across the spaces towards destruction, contrary to traditional museum experience. The works are designed using 3D scans anonymously taken from The Metropolitan, Louvre, Uffizi, and Acropolis museums. The scans were digitally manipulated to create new sculptures from old, building the future from fragments of the past.

Review: ‘Future Fragments – Command Z’ is a virtual art museum that features several classic sculptures from big-name museums like the Louvre and the Acropolis museum, then it slightly manipulates them and allows you do see then in VR and even break them! While I am not a fan of the breaking side of things you have to if you want to move into the next area. I enjoyed the kaleidoscope of colour you get, but it wasn’t very interesting nor was it much fun. Maybe I missed the point of this, but it simply wasn’t for me and I can’t recommend it. Usually, I enjoy all things relating to art, but this wasn’t one of them.
