Review: Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition is a story-driven adventure game that has strong undertones of a mental health battle. You play the role of a 3rd person (with the same viewpoint) who is with the main characters as she battles her inner demons. At times this game is ridiculously scary and at times I cried with her as she was clearly suffering. But who cares about a powerful storyline when it is the visuals in this game that shine the brightest (or the darkest as the cases would often be). But this game doesn’t rely on darkness for jumpscares, it gets inside your head and fully immerses you in the main character’s thoughts and emotions. Some might not like that it is played with a gamepad, but for me, it only made it more immersive. I can not recommend this highly enough and it’s worth every single penny of the asking price.
