Homido V2 (Mobile VR Headset)

Homido V2 (Mobile VR Headset)

“…simply the best headset we have come across and we don’t say that lightly.”

Please note: Box weight, size and contents might not represent your own product as sometimes different sellers use their own packaging and often include extra items like controllers, wipes, cloths or other promotional materials.

Box Weight: 902 g
Box Height: 19 cm
Box Width: 12 cm
Box Length: 24 cm

Overall Packaging Presentation: The Homido V2 is no cheap import packaging, this headset is both shop ready and gift ready. Set against the black box background it features all the information you might need as well as some pretty amazing images. If I had come across this headset on a shop shelf I would probably chuck my wallet at it and walk out with it. But it doesn’t end there!

Once you open the box you are presented with a beautiful carry case that is strong and protective. IF the box was somehow damaged in transit, the case would still protect the headset. With it’s carry handle and zip lock it would be perfect for a sandwich case! Then unzipping the protective case you are finally presented with the headset and without touching our handling it in any way it looks amazing.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Instruction Booklet
  • Spare Foam Face Padding
  • Protective Hard Carrry Case

Homido V2

First Impressions: Holding in my hands for the first time it does feel a little heavy in the front, but above that you notice that this is no cheap and tacky Chineses import. The Homido V1 was often seen as one of the very best mobile VR headsets, but the V2 feels so much better, better made, slicker, smoother design it feels like the V1 was a beta headset and this is the finished product. Despite its older brother origins, they have not just smoothed over everything, it looks as if they really went back to the drawing board and redesigned it from the ground up.

Features Review: When it comes to headsets FOV we here at the VR shop office get sick and tired of the manufacturers saying its ridiculous amounts when you wear the headset and it clearly isn’t. 120° for a Bobo Z4? They must have been on drugs! But yet…Homido says this headset is 100° FOV when we think it might be even more than that! The view is massive, clear and deeply immersive. Slap on a pair of headphones with this headset and you will be inside VR deeper than Jobe was in the Lawnmower man!

Just for once, this headset has pretty much all you need when it comes to features. Focus and pupil distance adjustment, thick face foam padding, large clear lenses, adjustable wide 3-point head strap and even a large screen touch button, this is mobile VR in a box and it has all anyone should need to get going (apart from a smartphone).

Final Verdict: Sadly headset has a premium price, but it also has the premium experience to back it up with. We have reviewed hundreds of headsets here in the VR Shop and we are unanimous in our opinion that this headset has the biggest FOV of all of them. It’s simply amazing and for that reason alone it is worth the money despite it being a lot of it. This is the headset people with other mobile VR headsets should upgrade to. They might be strong words indeed, but so far in our journey through the world of mobile VR, the Homido V2 is simply the best headset we have come across and we don’t say that lightly. You want the best mobile VR experience? This is it.

wich one is better this one or the convergevr DK3 ?why?

While they are close, I would have to say that the Homido V2 is better. That is because the Converge DK3 is just that, it’s “Development Kit” and thus it is not a finished product and can look a little rough around the edges. The Homido V2 is a much more consumer friendly product.

Which do you suggest for a Droid Mini phone: Homido V2 or Bobo Z4? This is for a 12-yr old who will be using it for videos and games, so doesn’t need anything too highly technical, but we’d still like it to be good quality. Having trouble finding good recommendations for the smaller phone size. If you have other suggestions, that would be great. Under $100 (U.S.) is ideal.

These can actually be used with Augmented Reality: https://youtu.be/2rvA4IsT7HU?t=668

While the cover does indeed come off easily, it wasn;t designed for that purpose. Still, a good and very informative video.
