Could Virtual Reality Really Be The Future of Live Music?

VR News: When it comes to seeing your favourite artists live on stage there is no better experience. But sadly we all know that has not been possible for the last year or so, but at least things are finally starting to open up. But what if Covid numbers rise again? Could VR technology really be the future of live music? Dutch symphonic rock band Within Temptation have already proved it can work with some impressive viewing numbers, so Ian Casey from BBC news goes to find out more – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/entertainment-arts-58177685

My Thoughts: I feel as long as VR technology develops more practical uses as well as remaining affordable (which thanks to the Oculus Quest 2 it is) maybe we will see more live music in VR. While this is not something new and we have seen many apps promising to bring the biggest bands to us in VR all of them have yet to bear fruit even when many of them have been free. But with covid being a part of all our lives now we might finally see something come from this and I for one can’t wait. It’s hard enough to get tickets to the big name gigs these days, but getting a front-row view is next to impossible. VR could well offer us all just that and that is something I am willing to pay money for.
