Review: There have been a few good bird-sim style games for our VR headsets with my favourite one being Eagle Flight. The good news is ‘Mare’ doesn’t do a half-bad attempt at a good adventure game in which you play the role of a Steampunk inspired bird/plane thing. But instead of the free flight you might be hoping for this is more a point and click adventure with the bird jumping from waypoint to waypoint.

While the game is aesthetically pleasing and there is a nice sense of exploration and adventure it does feel a little flat at times. Then there is the lack of content with most people easily finishing this game within just a few short hours. Sure, there are collectables to eke out those gameplay hours, but it really could have done with a small price drop to give it better value for money. It’s a good game and one I am happy to recommend, but it could have been so much more than it currently is.
