Description: Neon8 is a fast-paced First Person Shooter where you run, jump, fly, and shoot your way through levels of increasingly difficult enemies. Neon8 is like being sucked inside an 80s arcade game and granted superpowers. Neon8 allows you to compete against your own and others’ high scores to reach the top of the worldwide leaderboard. Neon8 procedurally assembles each level ensuring you will never play the same layout twice. The in/Zexts have invaded the metaverse and the peaceful Mother is powerless to oppose them. Brave warrior it is up to you to rescue her children before they are devoured. The question is, can you?

Review: Did you spend most of the 80’s pumping classic arcade games with coins? OR maybe you just like playing retro games! Either way, Neon8 might be the game for you. It’s a procedurally generated (random) action shooter that sees you defending baby “Neon8’s” from evil 80’s enemies who are trying to devour them. You can shoot, fly for a short time and jump, all the things you need for a classic platform shooter.

The levels might be randomly generated, but they look OK, a sort of floating island system with various bad guys and babies to save on each one. You simply jump into the air and look to where you want to fly. Then you just have to land on the next floating island, shoot the bad guys, explore the island and rescue the baby Neon8’s! This is all done via the joypad as that seems to be the only play method for now.

Neon8 is a game that is as nauseating as they come. From the fast-moving around to the poor controls, it is all seemingly designed just to make you feel ill. But that didn’t stop me from having a fantastic time playing it. From the 80’s style music to the classic retro arcade game style, it felt so nostalgic I ended up downloading a Wham album! But on a serious note, this is a great game that is a lot of fun to play. But you do need your VR legs as this is a bad one.
