Review: There is simply no point denying it, Ocean Rift is THE best underwater experience app for VR. None even come close to the quality of the animal renders of the unbelievable sense of adventure and immersion you get with this app. Not only is it a good app, its a great app for people new to VR, or showcasing to your friends and family. The experience and app itself are simply amazing and well worth seeing, even if you do stick to the free version. Sadly on the Daydream platform, there are some issues…

For starters why on earth does it cost more than the significantly better looking Rift version? In fact, I would go so far as to say its borderline if this app is actually worth the asking price even if it is pretty amazing. But the other issue is that this app doesn’t seem to work on many Daydream compatible smartphones. It will jump and flicker all over the place making it pretty much unplayable. Maybe that is because this is not an officially licenced Oculus platform, who knows. Whatever the reason is you need to make sure the app is fully compatible with your smartphone if you intend to buy the full experience at its premium price. Such a shame these flaws exist and the price is so high. But other than those two issues, this app is definitely worth a look (even if you do stick to the free version).
