Description: OhanaChan is a shooting game designed for play with Gear VR. Bees are trying to attack the pretty flower “ohanachan” – protect her by shooting them down! Search for the bees by looking around, then take them out with your bubble gun.

Review: I’m not sure what inspired the artist, but this game is inspired by Takashi Murakami Ohana Chan Kawaii Flower artwork. This Japanese Flower Pop Art style is all through this game and anyone who is a fan of it will be happy to live in this colourful, happy world forever. Sadly it is not all that happy at all (in fact, the flower never looks happy!) as there is a swarm of bees trying to attack your flower, although bees just pollinate them which is a good thing, but we will leave science out of this.

The idea is you look all around you while your bubble gun constantly shoots, trying to get rid of the bees and survive until the timer reaches zero. You do get the odd power-up to help you along the way. While you can touch the movement controls to move around the flower, it is often easier to simply stand still and shoot as there are far too many bees to shoot at times.

This will not be for everyone’s tastes, but I personally found it a bit of a laugh. At the end of the day it’s free so the least it’s worth is a try. You will soon get sick of the happy music and the colourful graphics. But you might also get competitive with friends trying to beat each others scores. If you need something to smile at, this is the game to try.
