Description: Winner Australian Video Game Developer Award 2019 VR Game of the Year. Voted by Kotaku reader poll as Australian Videogame of the Year 2018. Built exclusively for VR – fight fires, shoot water pistols, blast water shotguns, power water gattling guns, battle bosses and axe & smash your way through buildings. Paper Fire Rookie is proof that anyone has what it takes to be a hero, as long as safety and saving lives aren’t priorities. A tongue-in-cheek look into the world of firefighting, in a town filled with strange critters, odd personalities and secrets to discover.

Review: PAPER FIRE ROOKIE (Which was apparently formerly called ‘Paperville Panic’) is a fire fighting game in which you need to save paper people, who live in a town made of paper from fire. You don’t need me to tell you that the fires spread fast and sadly a lot of paper people do lose their lives. I just loved the variety of things you have to do in this game and it is pretty much relentless. One minute you will be putting out fires, then the next you will be using your axe to break something down. There are also boss fights to mix things up a bit. But sadly this game is not perfect and it is the locomotion system that really lets it down. It seems to be more of a nauseating “slide” than a teleport and you need to be dead in the middle when teleporting otherwise it will turn you which in the heat of the firefight is the last thing you need! But yet…I still love this game enough to recommend you give it a try even at full price. Its something different, something fun and that should be applauded.
