Overall Packaging Presentation: With its pure white box with little more than the company logo on it, this is clearly not a shop friendly design, but it does have a cleanness about it which I like. However, opening up the box by taking the outer sleeve off and lifting the magnetic catch reveals a thick foam padding that should keep the headset protected no matter where it is delivered to and also makes it look like a more premium product than its outer box suggests.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Branded Microfiber Cloth
  • Instruction Booklet
  • 3 point padded headstrap

“…better made than a DK2!”

First Impressions: Picking it up and out of the box for the first time I have to say I am impressed with the build quality and design of it. While heavier and bigger than an Oculus Rift DK2 it also seems better made than a DK2! Now that might just be in first impressions, but I doubt anyone will be feeling disappointed with this headset when they first get it out of the box. Let’s just hope it holds up through the rest of the tests.

Final Verdict: While it doesn’t work as flawlessly as with the current PC VR platforms (Steam VR and Oculus Home) it does work and that is a plus. View wise I would say it is not as comfortable as a DK2 or a Pimax 4K, but a lot better than setting for one of the cheaper all in one headsets. But it’s the price I have the issue with the most. Given that it costs about the same as an Oculus Rift DK2 I would suggest getting the DK2 every time. But if you happen to get given one of these headsets as a gift or get one cheap on eBay you won’t be disappointed at all. Its better than I thought, but its price suggest it should be.
