“…in its own little way this headset answers people prayers.”

Overall Packaging Presentation: While I don’t really get the outer sleeve of the box being covered in an underwater theme, it does at least make it look presentable as a gift. Opening the box there isn’t much more in the way of postage protection other than a few pieces of cardboard to keep the headset(covered in a dust-free bag) still in the box. But when we received the item it was wrapped in bubble wrap keeping it safe, but even then the flimsy box was a little beaten up. But all-in-all I can’t see any headset receiving too much damage in transit.

FIIT VR 5F (Mobile VR Headset)

First Impressions: This headset is pretty much the Fiit VR 3F only with a fan on the front of it. But that is not such a bad thing in terms of overall design because many people require a fan to keep their older smartphones from overheating so in its own little way this headset answers people prayers. (provided those prayers are about getting a headset with a built-in fan). In terms of build it feels sturdy enough and not too heavy which is a nice surprise given the inclusion of the fan.

Features Review: When it comes to features this headset has the lot and throws a fan into the mix just for some giggles. With adjustable pupil and focus distance (neither of which is independent) built-in earphones, screen touch button and a few other adjustable features this really has it all. I just hope all those features are backed up by the viewing experience.

Final Verdict: Well, well, well. There will be no surprises to many of you reading this that once again FIIT has not concentrated on where it matters most and that is the viewing experience. With a small FOV and average lenses once again we are dealing with a headset that is OK to use, but nothing special. If anyone at FIIT is reading this, take note of this line: Forget what this headset looks like and concentrate on what it looks like through your lenses! It’s not rocket science and if Baofeng Mojing can do it, so can you. Such a shame its so average, but full marks for making it look cool.
