Overall Packaging Presentation: This headsets presentation is a master class on how to present a product. With “Look To View” eye holes you can look into the headsets box and see a 3D stereoscopic image of a planet. This alone is enough to win an award, but the rest of it, like the see through top looking down onto the logo and the text that leaves you in no doubt what it is and what it does. Inside of the box, the headset is perfectly inserted into it, making it a seamless addition to the packaging.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Magnet Panel
  • Instruction Booklet

First Impressions: While essentially it is the same as the OWL Stereoscopic Viewer, it does have the removable magnetic plate that is used to hold the phone in place. This plate is not too over magnetised and you can easily remove the phone from it whenever you need to. With adjustable focus distance and large, ultra clear lenses it is made to perfection and designed to be the world best stereoscopic viewer (which it probably is).

Final Verdict: While this headset does work with most Google Cardboard apps, it is designed to be a stereoscopic photo viewer. The London Stereoscopic Company has seen the rise of various stereoscopic headsets we call mobile VR headsets and have made the bold move to say that mobile screens are now good enough to be used to view stereoscopic images as they were meant to be seen. This is not just big for their own interests, but also good for mobile VR as a whole. If you do love viewing stereoscopic images you can feel safe in the knowledge that this headset is the future of viewing that media. It’s designed to be pretty much perfect and dare we say, it just about pulls it off. But as a VR headset used to play games, this is just not practical. Keep it to the stereoscopic images and 360° videos and you will be fine.
