Overall Packaging Presentation: The headset comes in a nice looking sturdy white box with all the relevant information you might need. Not overall shop friendly, but certainly gift friendly. Inside the box, the headset was only bagged, but it also sat in a nice plastic tray. This gave it some extra protection and made the headset look even more presentable.

Whats in the box…

  • Headset
  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Instruction Booklet

First Impressions: While mostly the same headset as the RIEM 3 Plus there are some notable changes, mostly the addition of the focus adjustment. It also feels a little light, better made as if they had actually listened to people’s feedback and made a real effort to improve the original design. But holding it in my hands for the first time I have to say I am impressed.

Final Verdict: The RIEM 3 Plus: VMAX reminds me of the idiom “So near and yet so far”. They have clearly listened to people and made changes for the better, but the headset is still pretty uncomfortable to wear which is a core part of it being a headset. But that is not the case for everyone as some people find it a nice fit and others not so much. At the end of the day this headset is very affordable and offers pretty much all you need to get going into the world of VR, the perfect starter headset at the right price. But do keep in mind that there are more comfortable headsets out there to try.
