Overall Packaging Presentation: It’s plain white box doesn’t contain any of the “Sparkle” that this headset promises, but to be fair it looks neat enough and gift-friendly. Opening it up you are presented with the headset in its own silky carry case. While that doesn’t offer any additional protection, it does make the presentation nicer. It’s pretty compact in the box anyway so it should arrive safe and sound for most people.

Sparkle VR

First Impressions: From the moment I got it out of its little carry bag, I knew that this was little more than an Ant VR Taw clone. But to be fair they have jazzed it up a little bit and it now has a touch of style and indeed sparkle about it. It has the same features and everything, just the design is a little different. But that is no bad thing, it feels lightweight and the main body of the headset is sturdy enough.

Features Review: This headset doesn’t really have much in the way of features besides its folding design. While not exactly pocket-friendly it is easily portable and the carry bag it comes with is a good fit. The box tells us this headset has a stunning 200° FOV! This is of course not true, but it does have around about 100° FOV. There is also independently adjustable pupil distances, but the range is so small that it is hardly worth noticing, much like the 2-point head strap.

Final Verdict: OK, so it is little more than a clone of the AntVR Taw, but at least it is a clone of a good headset, there are far worse that it could have been a clone of. At least it does have the Sparkle its name suggest, even though it is only in the sparkly plastic bits on the top flap. This is one of those odd headsets that is suitable for anyone and everyone. With open sides so you can touch the screen and a nice wide FOV for your viewing pleasure. Sure it lets in an awful lot of light, but a piece of cloth over the sides will soon sort that. It’s far from a perfect headset, but for the right phone and the right application, it could be very handy indeed.
