Description: The year is 2035 and Tokyo has been overrun by an unknown force. Communications with the rest of Japan and the world are down. With the Tokyo Police and Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) destroyed in the first few hours of the invasion, it is up to you as the rookie pilot of an experimental variable mech to fight back the invading forces.
Review: Reflex Unit is a top-down action shooter that gives you control of a mech killing machine and it is your job to stop unknown forces overtaking Tokyo. With some pretty good graphics and its top-down table game style, this game makes sure there is no nausea at all and it isn’t as deep as many other tabletop strategy games which means its much more fun to play than it might have been if there was a heavier lean towards strategy. Its designed to be easy to play with a hint of strategy making it simple to pick up and hard to put down. Throw all that on top of a multiplayer game and you have yourself a great game that you and your friends can play. Sure, the online element is very quiet these days, but like I said, just get a few friends together at the right time and you will get even more mileage out of this game than you otherwise would. While the single-player game is indeed fun it is a little short meaning you might not feel you are getting value for money if that is all you intend to play.
