Description: Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT VR is the definitive VR FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing weapons off fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.

Review: When it comes to VR shoot’em ups sadly a lot of them are hard to play because, in reality, it is pretty hard to get out alive of a gunfight! That is where Superhot VR’s slow-motion mechanic comes into it. Time (the movement of bullets and characters) only moves forward as you move. So if you stand completely still nothing around you moves. but the moment you move your head or hands time returns to normal. This might sound odd, but it means even in the most manic of moments in SUPERHOT VR you can control the situation easier, you can duck, grab, attack and shoot all within a few seconds passing. This is an all-out shooter game wrapped in a sleek strategy style.

At the start, you will only be throwing a few punches at enemies but pretty soon guns and machine guns to name a few will be at your disposal. In fact, anything you can grab is at your disposal! Is the gun out of bullets? Then throw the gun? Out of guns and bullets? Then throw the enemies own guns back at them! Graphically it is not the best looking, but it runs very smoothly indeed and the time = movement feature often looks amazing when in the harder scenes. This is not a game that is easy or hard to play. It is only as easy as you make it. If you are slow-moving and have a good strategic mind you will do well if you are fast, all-action Jackson, this game will punish you for it faster than you can blink.

This is a game that makes a good VR system worth owning. The slow-motion gameplay is weirdly easy to get used to and I found myself pulling off all sorts of crazy kills within the first few levels. But I also finished it pretty quickly. Now some might say a few hours gameplay doesn’t offer great value for money, but I found myself playing it over and over again, not because I had to, but because I wanted to.
