Description: You wake up dazed and confused, probably from the effects of cryosleep. No one can be seen around, but you soon start to find the bodies of your dead crewmen. The ship is adrift, and whoever – or whatever – killed your crewmates is probably still around. Syndrome is a sci-fi survival horror game that takes place aboard the “Valkenburg”, an exploration and science ship equipped with the most advanced systems in the Novacore fleet. You need to find out what happened to your crewmen and do whatever you can to survive this nightmare. The enemies are powerful and numerous, which means that stealth and evasion are often the best strategies. You will find weapons aboard the ship, but ammo is scarce and should be wisely spent.

Review: Syndrome VR is a great looking sci-fi shooter that features a dark, horror style tense atmosphere that keeps you on your toes and the finger on the trigger. With an interesting storyline, a nice range of guns and at least 4-6 hours of gameplay, this game easily justifies its own asking price.

…well…that is what I might have said if this game was fully VR compatible. Sadly for anyone purchasing it (like me) it isn’t. There is only a small survival mode that is VR compatible and you can’t play the rest of the game in VR. Yes, you really are paying the full price of £15.49 for a 5-minute demo of the full game! Maybe one day the developer will enable us VR players to play it all in VR, but until that day I would stay well clear of this.
