Description: In the world devoid of human life our sentient machines are left to simulate the life they once knew. With no one to watch them, the swarm of flying drones built for one purpose – RACE – compete for each into eternity other across various landscapes and settings. Thick Air drone design is inspired by automobile era of late XX century.

Review: Bad news! The human race has been wiped off the face of the earth, but you don’t care because you are a high-speed racing drone and that means race time! OK, so the story is a little silly, but this game certainly isn’t. This is a drone flight simulator that features a physics-driven flight model. What this means is that it controls and handles exactly like you would expect it to feel in real life. While that might sound like a good thing it does take a while to get the hang of the controls.

While the setting is futuristic and the AI drones are as well, there is a retro style to many of the drone and scenery. It has to be said that everything looks great and once you get the hang of the controls you will be whizzing around the Grand Canyon setting in no time. With full multiplay support (both online and local), various race modes, settings and drones there is a lot to keep you amused for some time.

Learning to control your drone is the worst part of this game, in those first few goes it seems like it is uncontrollable, but give it time and you will get there. Everything else gets green ticks. It looks great, sounds great and if you don’t mind the extreme VR sickness it looks awesome in VR! If you are into drone racing or have dreams to get into it, this game is well worth a download. It’s fast-paced, looks amazing and gives you a good perspective on what it is like to fly a real racing drone.
