Description: UNDERTURE is a short 6DoF immersive VR experience set in the New York City subway. The train platform, emptied of all other people, becomes a private performance space for a real-life busking musician. Multi-axis freedom of movement, combined with spatialized audio, creates a uniquely immersive and transporting experience for the viewer.
Review: While I kind of get the point to Underture, I was also missing something the creators obviously wanted me to experience. For just a few short minutes you get to listen to a busking musician play a rather nice tune on the accordion. But that is about it. There is nothing else to see, nothing else to experience, it is just a solo performance by the musician. Don’t get me wrong, the real body capture of the musician and her audio is impressive, but there should have been a lot more visual elements to make it more realistic. The good news is it is free so if you fancy trying it, it will cost you nothing.
